Viral Videos Are Emotional And Personal

Two of the videos give us cute baby footage, two of them show us a father-child relationship and they all tug at our emotions in one way or another.

NONE of them is trying to sell us anything.

So, if you want to get into video marketing, take the focus off your products and put it on a personal, warm, emotive, human-interest theme.

Sure, you can make videos that explain the features and benefits of your product line, but don’t make them the be-all-and-end-all of your video marketing campaigns.

YOU Are Your Most Unique Product…

Remember, when it comes to Internet marketing, you are your most unique product, so stuff about you, your pets, your family, especially funny or goofy stuff, or stuff that pulls the heartstrings, will be much more likely to go viral than anything else.

For example, the third video, Laughing Baby Loves Ripping Paper, was a totally spontaneous video. The father received a letter of rejection after applying for a job, and when he tore the letter his baby son, Micah, began to laugh. The guy grabbed a movie camera thinking it would be nice to show Mum… and he ended up giving an interview on the Today Show after the video, posted on Yahoo, went viral and received over 5 million hits on Youtube.
