Getting Your Website on Page One of Google
There isn’t an online entrepreneur who doesn’t know the value of getting your website on page one of Google. Harnessing Google’s power is akin to any website having its own personal river of traffic. We will be analyzing a few powerful but simple tactics in this article that will help you reach the premier positions on Google’s SERPs.
You should understand how much importance Google lays on domain names that have country specific extensions, so that they can rank the sites in their respective countries for their primary keywords. Thus, it is imperative to get a country specific top level domain if you have a site that targets a particular country. Likewise, hosting your site on a server in that particular country is also a good idea. For example, if your site is targeted towards the Indian audience then you can have a domain extension such as .in or .co.in – and have your website hosted on a server that’s based in India.
They may be small things, but they do carry a lot of weight when you are trying to rank your site. If your domain name doesn’t contain your main keyword, the one you hope to rank your site for, then at least put it in the URL. When Google sees the keyword in the URL it will automatically consider your page to be more relevant and will bump it closer to the top when a search for that particular phrase is carried out.
It doesn’t matter what kind of keyword you’re targeting, but if it’s long tail, it has a higher chances of moving up the search results. The big G will analyze multiple factors on your website, including your URL. You’ll find many new websites ranking for targeted keywords simply because they included them in the main URL of the webpage.
One aspect many people ignore at their own peril is the powerful “Title” tag. Your core keyword should be contained in the Title tag because it is one of the elements Google uses to determine what your site should be positioned for. Conversely, exercise a little restraint and don’t start stuffing your Title tag with every keyword you can think of. Putting more than two keywords in your Title is asking for trouble. One good way of doing this is to make one keyword out of two.
If you work with Google, your website will hit the front page as long as you work towards increasing your position and maintaining it all the time. Many websites struggle for months and even years to reach to a good position on Google, without realizing where they’re going wrong. You have to analyze your results and know what you are doing if you want to get to the top of the rankings. With a few effective but simple methods you can get to the top of the search engine giant’s pages, as it doesn’t take a search engine specialist to strike it big.
