How To Use Twitter To Build Your Brand

If you are wondering how to use Twitter to build your brand, you will need to focus on a few key points, such as the four Twitter tips I discuss in this article.

Don’t Sell

One of the most important things that you have to realize is that Twitter is not a place to make sales. The place for that is on eBay or your website. Posting tweets that have sales promotions in them will not do any good for building your brand.

In order to use Twitter to build your brand, you must use this tool as a way to form relationships. That’s right. Branding is all about impressing your focused market and making your company look very positive.

It is fine to submit a Twitter link about your new product to followers, but doing so on every fifth tweet will damage your brand more than improve it. Your followers would think that you are using them to sell something and not trying to add anything useful. Obviously, this would have an impact on the results that you get from your tweeting.

Make it a goal to build a brand on Twitter by providing your followers with what they want. This is so that they can will view you as credible enough to buy things from in the future.

Query Others

This is not anywhere near the same as question and answer sites such as Yahoo. Making queries on Twitter can really help build up your brand. The reason for this is, it gets you noticed by others and will help them get in touch with you.

The kinds of questions that you pose must relate to a specific subject and make you seem experienced. This is because being pegged as inexperienced would not help your brand.

Even though you do not have to pose any specific type of questions, they should all be niche specific and show that you really know your topic. When anyone answers your query, you must tweet and publicly thank them.

Do not think that Twitter is not valuable when it comes to creating your brand. This is because there are various methods that can be utilized to leverage Twitter and get your followers to see you in a positive light. Asking questions is one of the many different ways.

Get a Retweet Button

It’s really strange how some bloggers and webmasters fail to understand the importance of the retweet button when it comes to brand building. Just by installing the retweet button on your blog, you can have people pass along your content virally all over the internet via Twitter.

If some of your articles are retweeted, this will instantly get you more new followers. This will give you a position of a brand that is always being noticed. If you look around, you’ll see that almost every popular blog has a re-tweet button that makes it easy for the readers to share the content with others in their social space.

Ask Others To “Please Retweet”

A recent study showed that if you include a “Please retweet” request in your tweets, significantly more people will retweet your Twitter messages than if you do not include such a request, according to a report titled, New Data Proves Please ReTweet Generates 4x More ReTweets Data on Dan Zarella’s Hubspot Blog.

With Twitter you can elevate your brand to new heights or build an effective one from zero. Humans are social by nature, so why not leverage that? That’s how to use Twitter to build your brand.

When on Twitter Retweet To Get Retweeted

Many online marketers have a hard time generating a single Twitter retweet from their followers and have nothing to show for their promotional tweets. Getting followers is simple enough, but how you interact with them is the key to getting Twitter retweets.

How To Use Twitter For Your Online Business

The main purpose of social media is to build and develop relationships. One of the biggest and most widely used social media sites is Twitter. Twitter can be used for both personal and business interaction with contacts all over the world.

Trouble is, a lot of Internet marketers say they just don’t know how to use Twitter. So here are my top eight tips to help you make Twitter work for your business:

1. 80/20: Twitter is a social media used for both personal and business interaction, so don’t simply use it to hit people with your sales links. Use the 80/20 rule and only sell 20% of the time. Use the other 80% to build relationships.

2. Engage:
Be engaging, entertaining and helpful. When people want to buy they do it from people they like and trust. Talk to people in your niche and who are interesting to you. Show a serious interest in the things that they have to say. Be authentic. When are yourself, others are drawn to the genuine you, not the person you are trying to portray. They can tell the difference, so just be yourself.

3. Photo: Use a photo of your self, even if you are not comfortable with putting yourself out there. Others want see what you look like, not your dogs or children, no matter how cute they may be.

4. Retweet: Retweet what others are saying often. If you think it is interesting it is likely that your followers will too and it shows the person whose message you are retweeting who you are.

5. Recognition: Make sure when others retweet something you tweeted that you give them recognition. Follow and friend more people that are unique to your niche.

6. Follow The Leaders: Take a look at who the leaders in your niche are following and follow some of them.

7. Blog & Tip Tweets: Tweet your blog posts and helpful tips. Tweet other peoples blogs and web pages of interest.

8. Character Count: When tweeting something you think others might want to retweet, make sure you use no more than 120 characters so it’s simple to retweet. Most won’t take the time and effort to edit. Have fun! Through this you will meet JV partners, friends, and colleagues. Enjoy building and growing these valuable relationships.

If you have been wondering how to use Twitter more effectively, I hope these tips have been helpful.

How Free WordPress Twitter Plug-Ins Help Increase Blog Tweets…

I seem to have developed a lop-sided relationship with Twitter, thanks to the utility of free Wordpress website Plug-Ins. Since I upgraded this site to Wordpress and installed a free Wordpress blog plug-in, I now tweet about almost every blog post that I publish on this and several of my other Wordpress sites.

But I don't just tweet about my stuff. I think I have become better at sharing good stuff that other people post on their Wordpress blogs as well, so those Wordpress Twitter plug-ins are helping me to be more truly "social" on the Internet. :)

On the other hand, I hardly ever read anybody's tweets anymore. I think the only time I read a tweet is if I happen to end up on my own Twitter account page at a moment when someone posts something interesting. Read the rest of this entry »
