How to succeed working online from home is one of the key topics that is discussed on forums and message boards around the Internet.

Those people who have built successful online businesses will not hesitate to tell you that the Internet is a good thing and the majority of what they say will be positive, even when pointing out the pitfalls to avoid. But when you work from home you can find any number of distractions that will take you away from developing your online business. Television is a major culprit here. Next, the kitchen offers many temptations to "stop for a cuppa" or to snack out instead of sticking to the task in hand. When you work from home, your bed is close to hand and so you may be tempted to lie in of a morning or to take a "quick nap" in the afternoon - you know, one of those "naps" that turns into a four hour sleep-fest! The backyard on a sunny day will also tempt you away from your computer.

All these distractions can cause people to stop concentrating on the many individual jobs that need to be done in order to make progress with an online business. Self-discipline and concentration are the keys to online business success because they are the motors that will drive you on to achieving your immediate and long term Internet business goals.

Offline distractions are certainly stumbling blocks to success, but actually they are just the tip of the iceberg. Let's face it, a lot of online business work is tedious and repetitive, so it is easy to get distracted. You know how some office workers find release from the tedium of their desk jobs by playing computer games when they should be working? Well, consider how much easier it is for you if you are working at home on an online business with no boss breathing down your neck. Without self-discipline and focus, you'd be sunk before you even got started and that is not going to do anyone any good; least of all you.

As well as the distractions I have mentioned, there is also the competitive nature of online business to take into account. If you intend to establish yourself in a particular niche market, it is very likely that are there are already a large bunch of people who got there before you. When it comes to online business, the big guys can crush the small fry a lot easier than traditional offline big businesses can crush small ones. Competitors don't hesitate to discredit each other and ultimately everyone is only interested in selling their products and making a profit. The Internet is a cut-throat environment to operate in and those who aren't aware of this factor get flattened the fastest.

So, as should by now be obvious, there are several disadvantages to setting up an online business. That is not to say that working online cannot be profitable; far from it. The Internet is a great enabler. With discipline and concentration on your part, the Internet will enable you to reach people whom it would have been impossible to reach via traditional marketing methods. Suddenly, much of the world's population is just a mouse-click away and it is primarily for that reason that you ought to consider the downside to online business as well as the huge upside potential that is there for those who can keep their eyes on the ball and discipline themselves to succeed.

Finding a Trustworthy and Reliable Dropshipper...

Whenever you set up an online retail store, or an eBay store, supplied by a wholesale dropshipper, you'll need to conduct careful research to find a wholesaler who is reliable and trustworthy.

This needs careful consideration because numerous wholesalers fail to deliver on their promises when you actually want to do some business with them. This is especially the case with wholesalers and dropshippers who serve the online community. In fact, Internet marketing wholesale dropshippers are getting a bad reputation because of the companies that cheat on their customers. Added to this is the fact that the inventory you will buy from these wholesalers may not come at a great discount to retail nor will it necessarily sell to an online market. So before you enter into the Internet retail business, here are some tips you may find helpful.

The first thing you need to do is to conduct market research on your target market. You need to know if the product you are thinking about marketing will actually be attractive to your niche market or not. This is because while a particular product may sell well in one area doesn't necessarily mean it will also sell well in another area. So even before you search for a wholesale dropshipper, you must know if the product you intend to introduce to your target market is actually viable because it would be a complete waste of your precious time to search for a reliable dropshipper only to find out that the product you want to sell isn't going to be viable in the actual marketplace in which you operate.

But searching Google for "wholesale dropshippers" may not be the way to go. The advertisements and the websites you visit may not necessarily contain reliable suppliers that will really deliver the kind of product you requested. I would recommend that you take precautionary measures even before you pay for these products. You can certainly find plenty of wholesalers from online directories and through even sourcing agents, but always remember never to pay in advance unless trust between the two of you had been established.

It is also important to exercise patience in order to find the right wholesaler with the best price. Don't jump at the first exciting offer you find. However, you should not expect these wholesalers to provide unrealistically low prices. If you find a wholesale site that appears to be offering unusually low prices then you need to conduct thorough research first before doing business. If you cannot be certain of the legitimacy of an offer, avoid doing business.

Finally, the last step you need to take is to learn to have faith in yourself because faith engenders confidence, and having confidence is important for success to be possible.

These days, it seems like everyone wants to work
from home and make money on the Internet. But
before you even turn on your computer, the first
question you have to ask yourself is whether
you're cut out for this kind of work.

The fact is, building a home-based business isn't
for everyone. Some people like the commute. They
really do enjoy having a boss who tells them what
to do, and they like the routine of working
nine-to-five for an ordinary salary that can
barely pay the mortgage. Personally, I think
