Article marketing has been an effective tool for driving visitors to our websites for all of the five years that I have been pursuing my internet marketing business. But things are changing now, thanks to the mighty Google, and lots of people are now saying that article marketing is dead. So with this article we will discover whether that’s true, does it work or not?

It still works but not just like it did before, unless of course you were one of the few who cared about your content and submitted decent articles to decent directories and authority sites.

If you spent your time spinning articles that end up unreadable, and using submission tools to ‘blast’ your articles to thousands of worthless sites, then this will not be working quite as well for you now. Notice I didn’t say it wouldn’t work, it just won’t work anyway near as well as it did before.

So is article marketing still a viable option for web masters wanting more traffic to their sites. Well to be honest that will depend on what your overall marketing strategy is! If you are planning on implement SEO, search engine optimization, as your primary marketing strategy, then, you most certainly do need to have your article marketing strategy in place.

If you are into SEO, then you already know the value of back links to your main site. So you need these article directory links, from quality sites, to boost your main website rankings.

So this is why we really must do our best to have good quality content on decent sites that will give us the quality back links we must have to win the battle of the search engines.

Like most people I have used mass article submitters at some time but when I searched for links back to my site from these submissions, guess what, there where hardly any! Nothing can beats quality article submissions, period!

So We Can’t Use Automation Then!

Of course we can, and indeed we must if we want to leverage our time effectively, but it must be a quality submission service that approves all articles before distribution. Submit Your Article is one of the best, and is the one I use as part of my article marketing mix.

It is still a good idea to spin your articles first because the more unique content we have the more chance of ranking more than one site at a time. Take some time over spinning your articles though and remember quality is the key. I don’t believe there is a single article spinner out there that can do a good job of spinning articles with just a single click of a mouse. The ones that say they can, will do it, but the articles wont read correctly.

Some folk are going to disagree with what I’ve said here, and I don’t really care, but this is how I use my article marketing strategy, and it does seem to be working as part of my overall SEO marketing plan
