Build Your List With These Traffic Exchange Techniques

Discover The Best Traffic Exchange Techniques That You Need To Build A Strong, Responsive List

A lot of people are attracted by the idea of building their list with traffic exchanges, but are not aware of the key traffic exchange tips that the experts use to achieve great results, month in and month out.

Most traffic exchanges offer free and paid membership, and many people join them as free members, post their main affiliate programme sales page, and start clicking.

Pretty soon, a large number of those same people give up because their results are unsatisfactory.

Yet, other people are doing well with traffic exchanges and have integrated their use into their overall sales and recruiting strategy.

Like everything else, there is a right way and a wrong way to use traffic exchanges. Most people are doing it WRONG!

Here are some key traffic exchange tips to help you benefit from solid, tried and tested traffic exchange techniques.

Traffic Exchange Tip #1: Squeeze Pages

I began to get better results when I started using squeeze pages with a freebie offer on them instead of trying to promote my main sales page directly to traffic exchange surfers.

Here is an example of a traffic exchange squeeze page I am currently promoting on several traffic exchanges.

Traffic Exchange Tip #2: Upgrade Your Account

Manually clicking for credits is okay if you have nothing better to do with your time, but for more efficient use of your time, and for more effective results you need to concentrate on ways to generate credits automatically.
The quickest way to do that is to upgrade your account.

Once you have upgraded your traffic exchange account you will earn more credits per click. Also, you will start to earn more credits each time someone joins the traffic exchange via your affiliate link.

That is an important point, because building a downline of traffic exchange users will generate more credits for you. Some of the top traffic exchange users generate thousands of credits per month simply by recruiting affiliates for the traffic exchange.


Traffic Exchange Tip #3: Take Advantage Of OTOs And Special Offers

Traffic exchanges are always looking for ways to sell more credits and one way they do that is to offer their members special rates on credit purchases.

Typically, when you sign up as a free member you will be presented with a "One Time Offer" (OTO) of an upgrade on very generous terms. If you can afford it, go for it as you will get a better deal than if you upgrade later.

From time to time you will also be presented with special credit deals, and these are also worth taking advantage of. So, watch out for them and get into the mindset of actively taking advantage of the offers that come your way.

Traffic Exchange Tip #4: Promote Your Main Traffic Exchange On Other Traffic Exchange Sites

One traffic exchange technique I recommend is to join as many traffic exchanges as you can and then start promoting each of your traffic exchanges on on the other TEs. Everybody who is already surfing on one traffic exchange is potentially in the market for another, or for several.

One way to do this without spending too many of your credits is to use your banner and text ad credits on each TE to promote other TEs.

Traffic Exchange Tip #5: Fill In Your Downline Builders

Inside the members' area of a typical traffic exchange you will find a number of resources including a "downline builder". Once you have signed up to several TEs, fill in the downline builders on each TE with your other TE affiliate links. If you do this on all the TEs you have joined you will get a regular trickle of people signing up to your TEs and earning you extra credits.

You can also contact those people, build up a business relationship with them, and plug them into your other business downlines.

Traffic Exchange Tip #4: Split Test Your Ads

When you start using the traffic exchanges daily you'll hear a lot about how you need to be tracking your stats, branding yourself and using a splash page. Funny thing is, until today, you had to go to two or maybe even three different programs to set up different squeeze pages for each campaign, and add some kind of ad tracking code so that you can monitor results.

I use TE Toolbox to run my split tests on the traffic exchanges. TE Toolbox is a free service set up by Tim Linden, Paul Kinder and Jon Olson. It's a tracker, it's a rotator, it's a splash page maker, it's a 'branding tracker', tailor made for the traffic exchange surfer.

Each time you want to run a campaign, write create two slightly different splash pages on TE Toolbox, then run them on the TE Toolbox traffic exchange rotator and each time you log back in you'll be able to track the results.

By running a split test you can gradually improve results as you experiment with your splash page copy. The two pages should be similar except for one key difference, such as headline, body text, free offer, or the command on the button etc. The two pages will compete against each other on the traffic exchanges and the one that gets the better results is the "winner". Now change the "losing splash page" and set up a new competition. By continually pitching one page against another similar page you will gradually improve your results.

Results Of An Experiment Using Some Of These Traffic Exchange Techniques

A recent experiment on the Affiliate Power Group forum, using the methods I've outlined above, produced these results on a series of ads that were thrown together in about 30 minutes:

15 ads x 100 views per day x 10 days = 15,000 views/impressions

15,000 impressions produced 483 click-throughs, producing a Click-Through Rate (CTR) of 31.05.

483 click-throughs produced 11 subscribers to the newsletter being offered.

* You could get a better CTR if you wrote better ads. That is why split testing is good. Test two ads against each other. Keep the winner as it is and rewrite the loser. Test again... and again... and again...

* Notice that the promoter was playing with about 1,500 clicks a day. He has build a downline of TrafficSwarm subscribers, which provides him with a lot of bonus clicks. If you have not got an active downline, then you need to do three things:
  1. Upgrade to pro membership of your favourite traffic exchange so that you will be allocated a few thousand clicks each month...

  2. Regularly do some traffic exchange surfing - as a pro member you will earn more clicks per view than as a free member.

  3. You need to start promoting your favourite traffic exchange site so as to build a downline.
If you do these things regularly, and DON'T get distracted by the ads that you click on, then you will build a successful traffic exchange recruiting system for your business.

Another long-standing traffic exchange that delivers great results. For cheat protection, this exchange has set a very high bar yet it's still extremely easy to surf.

Hit2hit is run by the lovely Franscisca Kruissink. Upgrades and purchases are reasonably priced. 2% commission to free members, and up to 50% commission paid to upgraded members on upgrades and purchases.

Traffic Taxis is a top quality traffic exchange with all the usual features and some nice extras, such as the loyalty bonus which pays regular surfers in cash and credits.
Traffic Generator #7: Traffic Witch
Traffic Witch is a viral traffic exchange so your downline increases automatically. If you upgrade to pro you will get a regular trickle of random referrals. Earn cash commissions when your referrals purchase extra credits or services.
